1.4 – You Give Me Fever

Kali Reddy, a middle-aged, uppity, and cranky Indian American immigrant woman gripes about the old customs and traditions eroding away in the wake of modern American life. She discusses her responsibilities in the greater Indian American community with pride and much prejudice against Indian Americans who don’t think and do exactly as she. When a piece of gossip makes her realize that her best friend Uma (the mother of Alina in Ep. 1 and wife of Manu in Ep. 2) may be moving back to India due to the loss of her husband’s job, she is also confronted with the anger and sense of betrayal this best friend has been feeling against her for the past few years.
